Hi there,
I just finished my first magazine interview! When the September issue of Parents Express hits, keep an eye out for Essential Imagery!
The lovely Christine called and asked intelligent, thought-provoking questions...and I told a poop story. Yep, she asked what my favorite client story was, and I told the tale of the newborn who was being photographed with four adults. She vomited on one, and took the other three out with an overflowing diaper. ::sigh:: I need to work on that 'poise under pressure' thing...it was the first story that came to mind!

Hi there,
I was inspired by this photo my husband took of me at the beach (I hate being the model, blech!) to create this. While I'm getting better at self-portraits, this is a first: no retouching took place on this photo. Except for a little color punching-up.

When you buy something that you're not sure about, and it's totally worth it. Totally totally totally. There are going to be some rockin' canvas portraits coming in the very near future...
Hi there,
Yet another non-photography related post. I finished the Harry Potter book and loved it. Except the Prologue copped out quite a bit...but I can't think of any way to do it better or differently, so I gotta give J.K. Rowling the love. If you're looking for a fabulous book to read, try Wicked by Gregory Maguire. Oldie, yes, but even better on the re-read.
In other news, I'll be photographing a few people that won an e-mail contest (thanks for responding so quickly!) gratis in the next few weeks, and I'm looking forward to it!
Oh, and I just saw a link for a blogging class at a university...!? And that costs the student at least a thousand dollars because...why?
Hello party people,
Just writing to let you know that, while stuck in the July doldrums, I've been spending plenty of time online shopping...and you really should check out Modish. Here. The fabulous chica who runs it spends her time scouring all sorts of indie, vintage, and handmade stores, then adds the best and brightest pieces to the Modish online store. It's fabulous, and it's a great way to support local artists and craftsmen instead of big business.

Isn't she fabulous?

Hi there,
It's been a bit slow 'round these parts, as the month of July seems to be everyone's vacation month. Therefore, I've had plenty of uninterrupted reading time, and am delving into Harry Potter like so many other readers worldwide. Since I can never resist a bit of playtime in Photoshop, here's a self portrait of me as Tonks...

Long time no blog. Been tweaking the website, essentialimagery.com, and making plans for October shoots! They're gonna be great!
It's live! The website is live! And I LOVE it!
Check it out...Essential Imagery. Yay!
